You would be thinking about what is “Sonali – The Endless River”, why have I not written her surname and the used phrase “the endless river”. Just be patient. You will get the answer soon. Today, I got this amazing opportunity to interview one of the most inspirational and hardworking person, Sonali Dutta.

Who is Sonali Dutta?

Sonali Dutta is a Speaker, Edupreneur, Youth Transformation Mentor, Trainer, Author & Content Creator. She is helping a lot of people online. She is very passionate about work and her tips are motivational. Sonali has developed her personal brand “Sonali The Endless River”. Let us understand more about her in this interview.

#1. “Sonali The Endless River” – what made you go for this name? How did it all start?

It started as an Experiment.

I wanted to start YouTube for a long time but was lacking the courage to do so.

“Endless” reflects my idea of Freedom and “River” depicts my horoscope which is Aquarius. I started enjoying the idea of expressing my thoughts and my audience started connecting with me too. So, here we are.

#2. You are an Edupreneur, what kind of activities in the education sector you have taken up? What inspired you to take this decision?

I have co-founded Speedclub.in which is India’s First ‘Character Education’ Hub. It is a School for Personal Excellence through Emotional Development.

I am also working on my Online Course on finding your Dream Job.

#3. What is your role in Youth Transformation Mentorship? How can one reach to you for mentorship?

I hold a lot of workshops in Colleges, Educational Institutes and speak at events, so they can come to hear me.

I needed a mentor while growing up and didn’t have one, so that’s the gap I want to fill for my peers.

For Mentorship, one can send me a text on any Social Media site. One can also send me a Voice Note on WhatsApp: 93309 51896

#4.  You were an introvert and shy person in your earlier days, how did you manage to become a confident person as you are today?

Yes, I was super shy. I had trouble speaking out to my closest buddies. It all changed in High School and College when I was sort of forced to make new friends.

I experimented and told myself to act as if I’m the most confident person in the room and that changed everything.

After that, I started doing more such experiments & that’s what I share using my brand Sonali The Endless River.

#5. How has digital marketing helped you to reach your audience? Which of the digital marketing tactics (SEO, SMM, SEM, etc) is used by you the most?

I am most active on Social Media. Since I don’t have a fulltime team working and I’m mostly working on my own it’s difficult to handle all aspects of Digital Marketing.

I just concentrate on the part that feels most authentic to me.

I love writing and that’s how blogging began and then since I wanted to get myself out of camera shyness, Vlogging started.

#6. You promote yourself very well. How can an individual do personal branding using digital marketing?

Written, Audio & Video are the 3 forms of content using which one can connect with their audience. Start with what you’re most comfortable in. It can also be Offline events.

More than tactics the reason for building a Personal Brand is more important.

#7. What are your goals for the future?

I want to establish myself as an International Speaker and also have a chain of Businesses I own. Travel is a big part of my life, so that will definitely be something I will pursue heavily.

#8.  Prior to being an Edupreneur, you have worked at various organizations. Would you like to share your experience?

I worked at a Call Centre for a month in School, then worked in various event management gigs as well. After that, I interned for a huge Brand during College.

From MNC to Travel to Digital Marketing Training, I’ve changed a lot of Jobs before settling down for what I’m doing now.

#9. You have pursued a master’s in digital marketing from IMS (Internet Marketing School), how does this degree help in your journey?

More than the Institute it’s about taking Initiative. My brand started as part of a project during my Master’s. I took it seriously and that’s why that helped. A lot of students usually pursue courses for the certificate which is a silly cause in this field your experience and portfolio matters, a Degree in Digital Marketing doesn’t mean anything honestly.

#10. Everyone faces a lot of ups and downs in life. What are the top 3 challenges you have faced in your life till now? How did you overcome them?

  • Lost a Friend & had a break up at the same time. I really had a tough time moving on from that.
  • Changed career streams one after another. Pretty scary seeing all my friends settle down.
  • I left my 9-5 and started Freelancing. I was earning almost nothing and went back to square one.

Self Motivation and support from Family & Friends got me going. Time heals everything.

#11. What certifications or courses would you recommend to a person who is completely new to digital marketing?

Courses by Digital Deepak. I look nowhere else.

#12. Networking has become a part of life, let it be social or professional, what are your tips and tricks on how to do networking?

  • Attend events & meet new people.
  • Know how to start a conversation without coming across as creepy or stalkerish.
  • Work on your elevator pitch or Self Introduction.
  • Work on Communication Skills

#13. You create a lot of video content. How to make effective videos? Where to post them – Instagram, Tiktok or YouTube? What’s your favorite?

  • Use your phone. I have made more than 250+ videos on that. Works every time.
  • Start by posting on TikTok which is booming right now. A fun platform to experiment
  • Content > Quality: focus on your message & takeaway

My favorite is YouTube because it is evergreen.
